Captain’s Welcome

On behalf of the members of Coventry Hearsall Golf Club, it is my pleasure to offer you a warm welcome, via our website, to this fine club and wonderful golf course.

Martin Battle-WelchWhether playing for pleasure, in a competition or as part of a Society or Charity outing, you will find our parkland course both beautiful and a challenging test of golf. There cannot be many courses set in an area of such natural beauty as close as we are to a city centre. Add to this the generous hospitality and friendliness of our staff, both on the course and in our comfortable clubhouse and it is clear why so many visitors and societies return year after year.

Coventry Hearsall Golf Club will leave a lasting impression in your memory and I’m sure you will be tempted to return in the future to repeat the experience.

Whilst valuing and maintaining the standards associated with a traditional private member’s club, Coventry Hearsall Golf Club recognises the need to be progressive and always aims to delight its members, visitors and guests alike with its friendly and relaxed atmosphere .

There are several open competitions spread throughout the year for men, ladies and seniors. I would encourage visitors to take part in these competitions and enjoy a day at Coventry Hearsall and sample the warmth of welcome provided by our members who always offer a competitive but friendly challenge.

This year’s Captain of the Ladies’ section is Rosie Swaffield, the Captain of the Senior’s section is Barrie Adlington and the Captain of the Junior Section is Thomas Poole. I wish each of them, together with my Vice Captain Paul Wilkinson, a successful and enjoyable year and I look forward to working alongside and playing with them all during the year.

My chosen Charity for this year is, in conjunction with the Ladies’ Captain, Rosie, is the Arden Cancer Research Centre based at the University Hospital in Coventry. The Coventry Hospitals Charity has funded the development of a Research Centre based at the University Hospital in Coventry. This new facility will enable the Arden Cancer Research Network (ACRN) to continue to develop their clinical trial service to patients. During the year there will be various events taking place providing lots of opportunities for people to support this very worthwhile cause.

The club prides itself on its friendly reputation and top quality golf course, and I am sure that its members and visitors will continue to enjoy throughout my captain’s year all that Coventry Hearsall Golf Club has to offer.

Personally I am looking forward to a great season of golf and social activity and hope to meet and play with many of you over the year.

I hope and trust you will all have a great year’s golf too.
