“200 Club” Press Release
Just in time for summer the “200 Club” has purchased new patio furniture for everyone to enjoy!
The “200 Club” committee took the decision to replace the old wooden furniture because it had reached 'end of life'. The new furniture is weather proof and will have the added advantage of eliminating any significant ongoing maintenance. The new chairs, tables, cushions and parasols have now been installed on the patio for everyone to enjoy.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all “200 Club” members for their ongoing support which enables Hearsall Golf Club members and visitors to fully enjoy all the facilities we have to offer.
The 200 club is run by Graham Mather, Wendy Bladon and Carole Littlewood. If you want to know more about the 200 club
This year as part of the spring maintenance the greens were pencil tined, top-dressed and a granular feed applied.
April/May is traditionally the time when the different species of grasses grow at various speeds subject to conditions and temperatures. The greens are currently being cut with the triplex greens mower with the brush attachment designed to lift the long wispy grass and achieve a more even cut.
The Poa Annua Grass will now start to produce white seed heads and to minimise their effect a new treatment will be applied which encourages the seedpods to lift up and make cutting more effective.
Due to the heavy rain it has been necessary to again rope off areas to protect the course.

Management Meeting Held on 10th October 2011
The following changes to the By-laws were made at the above meeting:
By-law 1.4
Existing wording: “Intoxicating liquor will not be sold to anyone under the age of 18.”
Revised wording: “Persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to purchase or consume alcohol on the premises. Suitable photographic identification may be requested from individuals whose age is believed to be questionable.”
New By-law 1.5
“The Management reserve the right to refuse to serve alcohol to intoxicated persons and to escort, off the premises any person causing an offence or disturbance to other members and/or guests.”
Because of the introduction of the above new By-law (1.5) all existing By-law numbering (1.5 to 1.22) will be enhanced by one and become (1.6 – 1.23)
By- law 2.9 (Dogs)
The original wording relating to dogs, as contained in proposed new By-law document issued to the members in early August 2011 was as follows:
By-law 1.22 stated “Dogs are not permitted in the Clubhouse unless it is accompanying a Registered Blind Person.”
By-law 2.9 stated: “No dogs shall be allowed on the Course unless on a lead.”
The changes presented to the AGM on Monday 3rd October 2011were as follows: By-law 1.22 was deleted and By-law 2.9 was identified as:
“Dogs shall not be allowed on the Golf Course, Clubhouse or Clubhouse surrounds unless it is accompanying a Registered Blind Person.”
As agreed at the AGM, the members concerns were placed before the Management Committee for further discussion at the above meeting. The result of which is that By-law 2.9 has been revised to read as follows:
“Dogs (other than Guide Dogs) are only allowed access to the external patio area in front of the Clubhouse. They must be kept on a lead and under direct and safe control at all times. The Club Management reserves the right to ask the owner to remove the dog if it is causing a disturbance to other members and/or guests.”
